DOES THE PHILIPPINE CANINE CLUB INC. NEED TO MAKE MORE MONEY?

At a time when everything is so expensive to buy and inflation is so high, service-oriented companies are trying their very best to remain competitive by lowering costs and streamlining the production process. At most, these giant corporations try to avoid burdening their clients w/o sacrificing their product's quality. Given these hard times, it is but normal for a corporation like the Philippine Canine Club, Inc. (PCCI) to devise some scheme to stay afloat w/o burdening its paying membership. But at a great cost to our dearest companion, indeed!

This grand financial decision by the PCCI board under the leadership of PCCI President, Augusto Benedicto "DINKY" Santos III, to allow the registration of puppies from bitches and sires as young as eight (8) months  of age  smacks of selfish interests. (The previous minimum breeding age for bitches was 12 months old.) Instead of minimizing expenses i.e. free meals, gasoline allowances, expensive foreign trips including pocket money & more; the officers would rather risk the health, or at worse, the lives of our under-aged dogs for the sake of profit in a supposedly non-profit organization. Imagine puppies having puppies! As a governing body for animal registration, wouldn't it be the best interest to promote animal welfare as paramount and not secondary to profit?

There are no if and buts about maintaining credibility. The current PCCI Board of Directors have proven that absolute power corrupts absolutely.  The PCCI Directors have immersed themselves in spending the PCCI member's money that they have forgotten to take care of the one thing that brings the fuel to their caprices.  Truth be told that the PCCI Directors have NO care for the welfare of our dear friend, the DOG. I pity them for the legacy they leave behind….
